What is it they say about life handing you lemons???

So, my life took a little unexpected turn yesterday that I wasn't really expecting. Going into work after having 2 weeks off, I am told that I either need to pick up more hours or they are going to have to let me go. Well, the hours they wanted me to work would be the time that I am home with my family. I never got a job intending for it to take me away from my family, only for something good for me to do while my kids were at school. So, I declined, they let me go and I was on my way home. I was pretty upset. I have been at this job for a year and a half now, I have really enjoyed it. I didn't even get so much as a thank you from the owner, which kind of hurt my feelings. So, now what?? I really don't know. Someone wise told me that when God closes a door he always opens a window, so now I am looking for that window. Is it another job? Am I suppose to be at home right now? Do I look for something I can start myself? Where it is the end of school, I am looking forward to a summer of fun with my kids, having them home. But when school starts again in the fall, I know I am going to be feeling like there has to be more to my life than this. This job was just so perfect for me, the hours and the place, I couldn't have asked for a better job for ME. Will I find something like that again? Who knows? My dear, sweet husband helped me to see that there are lots of things out there that I can do, I just have to find what it is I want. I know that I want to be home when my kids are, I know that I would enjoy doing something that I can do part time while the kids are at school. I like making a little of my own money. But, I am trying to look for the positive. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me, and I trust him to direct my path, whatever that direction is. And that makes me feel a lot better.

Eastering

I have to start off my post by saying what gratitude fills my heart at the gift that Our Savior gave to all of us. I can never watch anything or hear music about the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus without feeling so much love. I love being able to reflect on these things and know how much my Savior loves me.
Of course easter just wouldn't be easter without coloring eggs. Not my favorite thing to do, but, hey, its tradition.

There was definitely a trail of jelly beans left on easter morning for each of my kids.
Tage got new flip flops, a new swimsuit, candy, a build-a-bear and a halo figure (which he then lost at church.)
Celine got hair products, lotion and spray, new shirts, earrings and candy.
Poor Aliah woke up at 4am on easter morning throwing up, and didn't stop until quite a few hours later. But when she was finally feeling a little better she got to see what the easter bunny brought her. 2 new swimsuits, flip flops, a build-a-bear, and candy.
New easter outfits, don't they look good??
Little aliah had been so excited to wear her new dress to church and then she wasn't able to. She begged me to put it on but I didn't want her throwing up in it! So we took a pix. of her with it. Next sunday I will take a picture of her all dolled up in her easter best!
I didn't quite enjoy easter morning as I normally do because I was lacking in sleep from being up with aliah. I finally crawled out of bed around 1030 to see what the kids had got. We had a wonderful lesson in YW that us leaders put together and it was just perfect for easter. All in all it was a beautiful day. Hope your easter was great!

Spring Break: The end

Friday: we left at 730 am to head to Grandma Kris's house to drive with her to st. george. The drive was perfect and went by quickly. We got to St. George, ate some lunch, and the kids were all ready to head to the pool!! While the kids swam we basked in the sun, talking and eating and soaking up all the nice rays. It was PERFECT!!!
Grandma Kris gave tage and aliah some tennis lessons and they had fun trying to hit the ball.

After we were done swimming we went back to the house to get ready for dinner. There is a walking trail that goes all the way into town, so we decided to walk to The Cracker Barrel for dinner. It was a beautiful walk, the tempature was perfect. We had a delicious dinner and then walked back to the condo. About 4 miles round trip. When we got home we got jammies on and popped some popcorn and watched Tangled, the cutest movie ever. Then it was time for a good nights sleep!

Saturday: woke up and Kris made us a yummy breakfast of french toast. We left at 10 to go to the outlets for an hour or so, which is about all Tage could handle. We had packed a picnic lunch for afterwards and we headed to the city center park where they have a water fountain and some rivers and waterfalls for the kids to play in.
Grandma Kris convinced tage and aliah to get wet! Today was an even more perfect day, the weather was absolutely beautiful. After lunch the kids decided they were ready to swim some more. And I was ready to soak up some more sun. 3 hours of enjoying the weather, couldn't ask for anything more.

We got ready for dinner and went to the Pizza Factory for dinner, soooooo good!! The kids had fun playing on this old car. Then we headed to a really fun park for the last hour of sunlight. The kids had a lot of fun playing on the playground. We headed home, got in jammies and watched The return of Nanny McPhee, another cute movie. Time for bed. :)
Sunday: woke up to even more gorgeous weather! The most perfect day yet. After breakfast all the kids wanted to do was swim, and I wanted to lay in the sun some more. We enjoyed that for about 3 hours, came back to a yummy lunch at the condo and the started to pack up and clean and get ready for home.
Grandma Kris totally spoiled us on this vacation, we had the best time getting to hang out with her, and I am glad she can put up with tage and aliah bickering all the time. I honestly could have stayed another day or two. We left at about 230 for home and made it to Grandmas house by 6. A great, uneventful ride home. It was the best end to a great spring break, and we all had so much fun with grandma kris.
Life IS good. :)

Spring Break Day 4:

A pretty chill day.
I went and "borrowed" my niece Mia this morning for an hour. She had 4 people totally doting over her. We all love her. She is the sweetest, cutest thing ever and at the best age!! I need to do this more often.
My wonderful parents came and took my kids to see Rango. This made me very happy because:
1. It meant I didn't have to take them to see it.
2. I got a few hours to myself.
3. Kids got quality time with their grandparents. Definitely a win/win situation. Thanks mom and dad!!
Now:
Aliah: playing at a friends house. :)
Tage: at a friends birthday party :)
Celine: has all of her crazy teenage friends over at our house :)
But TOMORROW!!!! me and the kiddos are heading to st. george with kalebs mom. Poor kaleb has to stay home and work :( but I am going to see the SUNSHINE!!!!! Its all I want. So, I will update our last 2 days when I get home.

Spring Break day 2

I should have known the sunshine was too good to be true. Didn't sleep well last night so I woke up at 10 this morning, I love lazy mornings! For lunch me and the kids met some of our favorite people at Artic Circle, our friends the Binghams! Artic Circle is a tradition for us. :) We ate and played and talked. Tage and Rach went back to her house to play and Celine and Malia went to the mall.

So with everyone else gone me and aliah sat down to some serious games of SORRY! which she beat me TWICE!!
Celine came home and aliah called a friend over. So me and celine made some homemade cinnamon rolls. Have I mentioned that I love my Kitchen Aid??
Celine, Aliah and Sadie enjoying our hard work. Another totally relaxing, chill kind of a day.

Spring Break Day 1

We woke up to the sun shining which couldn't have made me happier! How nice it was to sleep in and not have to take the kids to school. We all enjoyed a leisurely morning.
After we got ready, we headed out to Target. I made the kids try on these easter headbands, yes, they hated it...well, except for aliah. Right when we were leaving Target I got a phone call from my boss at work telling me we were so slow so she wouldn't be needing me for the next two weeks. That put a little bit of a damper on my mood for a minute, I hate missing out on that money. But, I tried to shake it off and go onto the next thing.
Next it was off to lunch at Applebees. Tage and Aliah had coupons for free kids meals and me and celine split a sampler tray. Very yummy and delicious and fun.
After lunch we headed to the Library. We were all in need of some new books to read. I love the library. I could spend hours and hours there. I like it that my kids all enjoy reading too. Between the four of us we checked out 19 books. That will keep us busy all week.
We ended our day getting into the hot tub together. We talked and played a silly game and enjoyed the hot!! :) It was a great day with my kids, I thoroughly enjoyed being with them and hanging out.
Stay tuned for whats happening tomorrow!!

uuummm.....

So....yeah, I guess my life is pretty boring right now. I can't think of one dang thing to post about!! The weather has been miserable, maybe thats my problem. I am so anxious for sunshine nothing seems good without it. :) But: it is the beginning of spring break with my kids, so my plan is to document every day with a picture. That will at least make my blog a little more interesting right now. I am looking forward to a week with them, lets see if I still say that at the end.... :)
