A decade for tage....

Happy Birthday to the most handsome, sweet, funny and fun boy I know. Tage turns 10 today and I just can't believe I now have two kids in the double digits. Oh where oh where did the time go?He had a fabulous birthday party a few days ago, it was fabulous for me too. All I had to do was make a cake and get some ice cream. We ate and opened presents, and then I took 7 kids to Monkey Island where they played for 3 hours and I read a book. Couldn't have done a better party.
I think everyone should get the experience of having a son, they are such a joy, and SO much different than girls. He has always been my buddy, since he was little. He gives the best hugs and makes me laugh more than anyone. He has made me experience a whole new world that I never would have known without him. Tage has always had a soft heart, which can be tough for a boy, but I try to make him see that its ok to have feelings and be tough at the same time. I can tell he is getting closer to those teenage years, he is really starting to grow up. He is noticing girls, but he does NOT care at all about what he wears or how his hair looks. I tell him he looks homeless most of the time. But I honestly wouldn't change one hair on his head, I love him just the way he is.
Happy Birthday to the best boy I know. I just couldn't be any luckier to be your mom. I love you more than I have words to say.

My mom made tage this awesome blanket, it is called "Bears Claw", it is the perfect boy blanket, and tage loves it! He loves wrapping up in a blanket just like his mom!

First Love....

Its not what you think! :) Aliah was looking through her baby book the other day and noticed all the pictures with her and her "blankey". She asked me where it was and told me that she missed it and could she please see it for just a minute?? All my kids first loves were their binky and blanky. We took them everywhere with us. Up until about the age of 2 to 2 1/2, the blanky and binkie came everywhere. I still have all of my kids blankies, which I will give to them someday when they are grown up. They are totally trashed and falling apart, hence the reason I don't let them use them anymore. Some days I miss those days, where all I had to do was throw their blanky over my shoulder and I could automatically get them to snuggle with me. Or lay them down in their bed and tuck their blanky around them and they would snuggle down content for the night. What a sad thing to have to grow out of. Now I am feeling all nostalgic, wishing for those days back again....

Love my Utah Jazz.

Twice this week I got to go to the Utah Jazz game! The first one we went as a family. We all wore our d-will shirts, but I think it will be the last time I wear mine. Its time to let go and move on. The sad thing is we just bought tage and aliah their jazz shirts 2 months ago! Guess we will have to get them new ones. But it was a great game with a great win!! Its so fun to do this as a family, and I love to see me and kalebs love for the Jazz passed onto our kids. They are turning into true jazz fans.
We forgot our ball that night! But luckily kaleb had his jazz hat and we got new team player Devin Harris to sign it. He might be my new jazz crush, I am still deciding....:)

Some people in our ward gave kaleb two tickets to wednesdays game so me and him got a date night out together. We got these awesome jazz beanie hats when we came to the arena!! Its my new favorite thing! Even though its not too flattering on me I wear it proudly!! It was another great game and win. Watching the jazz play is just one of my favorite things to do, especially with Kaleb!!
Love me my jazz. And my kaleb.

In Remembrance 3-13-07

I never got to hold you in my arms
I never got to feel you soft and warm
I never got to kiss your chubby cheeks
I never got to tickle your fat little feet
I never got to count your fingers and toes
I never got to see you grow
I never got to hear you call me Auntie Meg
But I know one day I will see you again.

Love you and miss you. Always in my heart.

Spoiled???

You know when the weather starts to turn a little bit warmer and you suddenly get the bug to spring clean? Out with the old and all that? Well, today I concentrated my efforts on Aliahs room, which was beginning to look more like a trash heap then a little girls room. As I am pulling out and throwing away and sorting I was asking myself where did all this stuff come from?? How could one little girl have all this stuff? Me and Kaleb have never been parents who buy stuff for our kids whenever they want or whenever WE want. Its twice a year, birthdays and christmas. But, sheesh, my little girl has way too much stuff. She doesn't play with most of it and probably doesn't appreciate any of it. Is she....SPOILED????? I need to find a way to have my kids appreciate the things they have, and not have such an over abundance. I have never thought I did overboard christmases and birthdays, but maybe I need to cut back even more. Maybe then my kids will really appreciate it when they get something new. Because this mess was just ridiculous!

And on the 7th day, we rested....

Today was a good day. It was Stake Conference weekend. We slept in. We had a nice, relaxing, quiet day at home as a family. The kids baked some cupcakes, I worked on my lesson for next sunday. It was a peaceful day, one I needed. The day didn't drag, we didn't get bored, the kids mostly got along. We listened to some nice church and primary music. I read the Ensign. A whole day of just rest at home. It was much appreciated. We went and celebrated my sis-in-laws 18th birthday. Had dinner. Watched some home videos. I love spending time with family. I love having my kids around when they are getting along. :) What a great idea this whole "on the 7th day they rested" thing is.

Lucky Girl....

In Honor of St. Pattys Day!!

I'm Lucky....
that I have a teenager who doesn't make me want to pull out my hair!
that I have a husband who is patient with me.
that I have 3 kids who think I am pretty neat.
I have a roof over my head and food in my cupboards.
I have a dad who is a psychiatrist.
I have people who I consider true friends.
I have a job that I don't hate.
I live in a world where there is medicine that can make things better.
That I look younger than I am, someday that will be GREAT!!

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.
